Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney, LLP is pleased to announce that Managing Partner James A. Ruggieri has been  elected to the Board of Directors of Care New England, an integrated health care system based in Rhode Island.

With more than 40 years of experience as a trial lawyer in state and federal courts, he focuses on commercial litigation, product liability, insurance coverage, and employment law. 

Recently, he completed 40 hours of in-person training at the Harvard Mediation Intensive, part of the prestigious Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School Executive Education. This experience has helped him significantly expand his mediation practice.

He has been named “Lawyer of the Year” by The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been recognized by Super Lawyers® and in 2024 was inducted into Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly's Hall of Fame.
