Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986 and received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1994. She was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar in 1994. She was admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island in 1995.

Chris joined HCC in 2000 in the workers' compensation department. She has been practicing in the Workers' Compensation Bar since 1995 and has devoted her practice exclusively to the defense of employers and insurers. She is a member of the Rhode Island Workers' Compensation Bench Bar Committee, the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island and the American Bar Association.
